Royal Chitwan National Park,situated in the Rapti valley about 150 Km south of Kathmandu, is the richest wildlife reserve in Nepal and one of the best in Asia. Occupying an area of 932 Sq Km, this park is home to one-third of the entire one-horned rhinos population in the world. Besides The Bengal Tiger being one of the main attractions, the park also houses leopards, gaurs, wild buffaloes, sloth bears, wild boars, various species of deer and march, and mugger crocodiles. For bird watchers, it is a paradise with more than 400 species of birds.
